Guinness World Records declared that Longest Variety Show was achieved by RANJINI KALAKENDRA and SRI SANKARA TV for 100 hours 49 minutes at Freedom Park, Bengaluru from Feb 6-10, 2015.
The record creation event was held from Feb 6-10, 2015 at the prestigious venue in the very centric vicinity of the city of Bangalore where people can come and participate from any locations from Bangalore and other places of the Karnataka state.
Various categories included Folk Music, Light Music, Classical Music, Folk Dance, Contemporary Dance, Classical Dance, Instrumental – Veena, Flute, Violin, Keyboard, Guitar, Saxophone, Percussions, Visual Arts – Painting, Sculptures, Puppetry making, etc., presented in a group of hundred each.
We provided a brief overview of various art forms to the audience through actual demonstrations by selected artists in each art form.
The venue was big enough to accommodate 2-3 thousands of people at any given time.
The Stage was huge enough to accommodate nearly 100 performers. A well set music system, lighting, backdrop, digital clock for the visibility of Timekeepers were made.
The program chart was prepared in advance and the performers were asked to report 2 hours before their performance. The Reception help desk assisted to receive the performers. Verified from their registrations, the designated Stewards took their signatures on the attendance sheet and entry pass to the stage were distributed.
2 Stewards, 2 Timekeepers and 2 Witnesses were made available at all the times in 4 shifts a day, 12am to 6 am, 6am to 12pm, 12pm to 6pm, 6pm to 12 am for all the days of the event.
The program started around 5:30pm, in a traditional Indian way by lamping the light and honoring the dignitaries.
The stage was set for record at 5:45 pm, 6-Feb-15. The performances continued until 10:30 pm, 10-Feb-15. All volunteers, sound engineers, videographers including Stewards, Witness, Timekeepers working in shifts for 5 days.
The performances/ Acts were lined up continuously in various varieties viz., Music – vocal/ singing – Indian classical forms (Hindustani style, Carnatic style, Folk tunes, filmy, etc., Dance forms – classical (Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, Manippuri, Odyssy, Kathak), Flok forms (Kolata, Veeragase),
Filmy, Western/ Hip-hop/ Free-style etc., Circus, Theatre acts, Skating, Painting & Craft demonstrations, Instrumental fusions – Veena, Violin, Flute, Saxophone, Nadaswaram, etc., Percussions – Mridangam, Drums, Tabala, Roller Skating, Yoga, Beat Boxing etc
