CHENNAI: A 7-year-old boy, protest against liquor shop on a road in padur, a village on the outskirts of Chennai on Wednesday.

A. Akash, class II student sat on a road in Padur protesting against liquor shop said " This land is for agriculture, the wine shop should not be here," Also, families really suffer because people drink. They do not have money for their children's education because they spend everything on alcohol," he added.

At about 11.45 am, Akash took a walk all alone from his home and proceeded towards the liquor shop which was about a kilometer away. On being stopped by a police officer in the mid-way the child sat on the middle of the road, in protest and started reading his school book for some time.

After much coaxing and convincing, the young boy went home and ended his protest by 2 pm.
