Book Reading Session of 'A Tale of Two Homes'
Chennai, March 26, 2018: Higginbothams today hosted a Book Reading session of ‘A Tale of Two Homes’, a fictional narrative based on true events, authored by Dr. V. Srinivas, Urological cancer surgeon-turned-author, at the Higginbothams Writer’s Café (127, Peters Road, Gopalapuram, Chennai - 600 086). Renowned writer Aroon Raman (author of The Shadow Throne, Skyfire, The Treasure of Kafur) conversed with Dr. V. Srinivas on the occasion.
A Tale of Two Homes is the story of an epic home construction in the Nilgiris, along with the thrilling, yet daunting, legal drama of the Raiz Rayne Residency Complex (RRR). The author masterfully weaves a tale full of witty humor and substance, wherein you encounter colourful characters across the spectrum of the good, the glittery and the greasy.
Elaborating on the book, Dr. V. Srinivas said, “The book is all about how we went about identifying the place, getting the land, constructing the house and the problems faced while getting it done. It’s a useful guide for anyone embarking on this journey. Also some chapters are devoted to a fictional flat demolition in Mumbai, what the residents have to do to save their flats and how they manage to do so. ‘A Tale of Two Homes’ contrasts with the house being built on one side and a house being demolished on the other side.”
The book is available for purchase at the Higginbothams Book Stores in Chennai, Bangalore and Ooty; Trilogy Book Store in Mumbai; and online on Amazon, ShopClues and White Falcon Publishing.
