Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav resigns
Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has stepped down from his post after he was named in the multi-crore Vyapam scam in the state.
According to reports, the Madhya Pradesh Governor had been asked to resign by the Home Ministry after he was named in a police complaint in connection with the Vyapam scam involving politicians and government officials. He has been booked for corruption, misuse of his official position and cheating.
The Special Task Force, which is probing the scam, reportedly needs presidential sanction to chargesheet him. The scam involves the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam, which holds the exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments. The candidates allegedly bribed government officials to make it to the list of those who cleared the test.
