Chennai April 2014: Madras, the South Indian restaurant at The Raintree, Anna Salai will offer delicious Niligiri Thali from the 4th to the 20th of April. The restaurant will showcase the Queen of Hills’ unique cuisine during the month taking you on an exciting culinary ride into the Blue Mountains. Nilgiri cuisine predominantly uses Indian herbs like coriander, mint and curry leaf, while the heat comes from the use of green chillies and green spices such as fennel, cumin and cardamom.
There is very little use of garam masala and black spices like cloves, cinnamon, anise differentiating Niligiri cuisine from any other in South India thereby creating a unique flavor. A few specialty dishes like Nilgiri Korma, Beans Therakkal, Mutton chops and Kothamalli Vegetable Biryani will be featured during the festival. The refreshing Niligiri Thali served during the scorching summer season costs Rs. 650/- for veg thalli and Rs.800/- for non-veg thalli, exclusive of tax is available for both lunch and dinner.
