Sagar Nidhi to conduct deep sea search for debris of AN 32
CHENNAI: Ocean research vessel Sagar Nidhi, which will conduct deep search for the remains of Indian Air Force aircraft AN 32, is expected to reach the search location from Mauritius early on Monday morning.
The vessel, belonging to city-based National Institute of Ocean Technology, will scan the sea bed with its multi-beam echosounder and profiler.
Officials said the search will begin about 169miles off the Chennai coast in an area covering 220 nautical miles.
The IAF AN 32 transport aircraft went missing mid-air with 29 people onboard on July 22, about 15 minutes after it took from Tambaram Air Force base to Port Blair.
