Wheel-chair bound patients from ApoKOS inspire others at the Ai
Hyderabad, August 25th, 2018: The 5k run of Airtel Marathon, hosted on Saturday from HITEX, had a surprise element in the form of feisty patients on wheel-chairs, from ApoKOS Rehabilitation - the first complete medical rehabilitation center in the country.
The contingent of 40 from ApoKOS, along with patients, inspired and motivated the other participants and by-standers with their indomitable spirit. The strong-willed 20-year-old Isse Abdullahi from Somalia with a bullet injury in the spinal cord, paralyzing him and Apurba, recovered from serious ailments and desired to display their never say die attitude, at the Marathon.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Rahul Khandelwal, COO, ApoKos Rehab Pvt Ltd., said, we wanted to send a strong message of rehabilitation medicine making rapid strides in the recent years and its possible for patients now to fully recover from their ailments with rehabilitation and lead a normal life as before the ailment.
The contingent of therapists, doctors and para-medics from ApoKOS, besides the patients, went about spreading their theme of ‘Let nothing stop you.’ The team had placards with messages of, ‘What matters is the spirit, not the distance’, ‘I took the challenge, how about you’, ‘I Can. I Will’, ‘It’s hard but not impossible’, ‘My spirit is my energy.’
