‘Ashok Leyland to Invest in the Battery Ecosystem for a Sustainable India’
Given the immense interest in our media statement dated 1st September 2025, we would like to give additional information for further clarity:
- There is no investment envisaged from CALB
- The investment quoted is phased up to the next 10 years
- The intention is to start with battery packs with production in 2027
- Location of battery pack manufacturing in India is yet to be finalized; talks ongoing with different State Governments
- The scope of relationship with CALB is import of cells. The subsequent actions will be finalized as we progress.
