Day One Results – SRMIST 2nd International FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026
The SRMIST 2nd International FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026 commenced successfully on April 30, 2026, at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, KTR Campus. The tournament is organized by Golden Knights Chess Academy and Master Mind Chess Academy, in association with the Directorate of Sports, SRM IST, at the Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Stadium, SRM IST, under the aegis of the Chengalpattu District Chess Association, the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association, and the All India Chess Federation.
The inauguration ceremony was held at 10:00 AM, graced by Chief Guest Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director – Campus Life, SRM IST, and Guest of Honor Dr. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director of Sports, SRM IST.
A total of 323 players from all over India participated in this event.
