Mr. P.N Vasudevan, MD & CEO at Equitas Small Finance Bank, one of the largest small finance banks in India graced ‘Mahatmika’ an event honouring the journey of 14 transwomen, detailed in the book, ‘Transgender in India, achievers and survivors’authored by Dr. C. K Gariyali (IAS) Retd and Ms. Priyadarshini, (Actress and social activist). Hosted by Saraswathi Educational Charitable Trust and Inner Wheel Club of Chennai, the program was an ode to the bold and inspiring transwomen who overcame various hurdles to become great achievers in their respective fields.

The fourteen transwomen featured in the book were felicitated at the gathering. 

Sathyasri Sharmila,  Noori Amma, Swetha Sudhakar, Olga B Aaron, Jeeva Subramanian, Dr.Sudha, Rekha and Dhanalakshmi were among the ones present for the event. Each of these noteworthy personalities are pioneers in their fields as dancers, artists, doctors, inspectors to name a few.
