New Vice-Chancellor appointed at BML Munjal University
Chennai, December 21, 2018: BML Munjal University (BMU) today announced the appointment of new Vice Chancellor, Dr Manoj Kumar Arora. Professor Arora was Director at Punjab Engineering College (PEC), where he brought in several administrative and academic reforms. Professor Arora comes with a wealth of about 30 years of experience as a teacher, researcher, administrator and a leader in academic institutions in India, UK and USA.
Professor Arora holds a Ph.D in Remote Sensing from Swansea University, UK. He was a post-doctoral research fellow for about two years in a NASA sponsored project in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, Syracuse University, USA. He has earned Outstanding Teacher Award twice at IIT Roorkee, the Commonwealth Scholarship Award, the DST Young Scientist Award, the AICTE Young Teacher Career Award, and post-doctoral fellowship. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He also serves on a number of committees of IITs, DRDO, UPSC, CSIR, UGC, AICTE and other organizations of excellence.
Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor, BML Munjal University said, “We are delighted to have Dr Manoj Kumar Arora as Vice Chancellor of BMU. BMU is Blessed with a State of the Art modern infrastructure, highly qualified faculty, and strong industry and foreign collaborations and I look forward to put my 30 years of experience to work for this great institute to achieve its mission.”
Professor Arora has also been instrumental in creating Kalpana Chawla Chair of Geospatial Technology from Indian Railways and opening up of Smart City Innovation Center with the support of UT Administration and Punjab Government at PEC, Chandigarh.
