On Gandhi Jayanti, Growel’s Mall pays rich tribute to the Mahatma
October 3, Mumbai: As the nation remembered Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 149th birth anniversary on Tuesday, Growel’s 101 Mall in Kandivali too made its noble contribution to honour the Father of the Nation.
The mall organised a blood donation drive in its premises to mark Gandhi Jayanti. The blood donation drive was organised in association with Lion’s Club and Leo Club of Kandivali Western Express.
The team from Lion’s Club and Leo Club brought their blood donation van which was parked at the mall waiting for volunteers to contribute to the noble cause. A team of 20 members including doctors and other supporting crew was present at the venue. The activity was held from 12.30 pm till 4 pm. The team approached visitors who were present in the mall to volunteer for the blood donation activity and received a good response with over 60 people donating blood.
Speaking on the occasion , Mr. Vikas Shetty, Mall Head, Growel’s 101 “We are pleased to have made our little contribution by organising this blood donation activity in our campus on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Lion’s Club and Leo Club have done a great job by organising this drive in our mall. The response has been great and we know that it’s a noble cause because medical experts say that non-availability of blood is termed as one of the major causes of death in many cases.”
