USA Pilgrims Participate in Grama Seva at Prasanthi Nilayam
A group of devotees from the United States (Zone 1) of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) commenced their sacred pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam with a heartfelt Grama Seva (Village Service) programme on Tuesday, embodying Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's timeless message of "Love All, Serve All" and "Hands that Help are Holier than Lips that Pray."
As part of the pilgrimage, the devotees travelled to nearby villages around Prasanthi Nilayam to distribute essential food items and lovingly serve rural families. The Grama Seva initiative reflected the spirit of selfless service (Seva), where every beneficiary is regarded as a manifestation of the Divine.
The service activity was marked by humility, discipline and devotion, with volunteers personally interacting with villagers while offering food and daily necessities. For the participants, the experience was not merely an act of charity but a spiritual opportunity to express gratitude through loving service.
The pilgrimage, organised by SSSGC Zone 1 (USA), forms part of the global centenary service initiatives inspired by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Besides Grama Seva, the devotees are expected to participate in bhajans, satsangs, Vedam chanting, darshan and other spiritual programmes during their stay at Prasanthi Nilayam.
The Sri Sathya Sai Global Council highlighted that Grama Seva remains one of the most cherished traditions at Prasanthi Nilayam, reinforcing the ideal that spirituality finds its highest expression through compassionate service to society.
The USA devotees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Bhagawan's abode and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying the ideals of love, unity and selfless service back to their communities across the United States.
The pilgrimage is scheduled to continue from July 21 to July 23, 2026, with various devotional and service activities planned at Prasanthi Nilayam.
