2nd State Level Karate Competition 2025
The Department of Physical Education of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, Chennai, organized a State Level Karate Competition on 2nd November 2025.The event was conducted in association with Sensei Martial Arts Academy and Japan Senshu Karate Do India under the guidance of the Directorate of Sports, SRM IST. Mayilvaganan Ramakrishnan, President, UAE Shitō-ryū, Karate Federation (2014 – Present) was the chief guest of this event. He urged the students to excel in sports and to enhance their contributions to the nation and the institution. In his special address, Dr. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director of Sports, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, provided a concise overview of the records achieved by our students and inspired them to participate in the upcoming Olympics.
The competition was held at the SRMIST Vadapalani Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., witnessing the enthusiastic participation of students and martial arts practitioners from across the state. Around 300 students, comprising both male and female participants, were engaged actively in the event. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among the participants while providing them with a platform to exhibit their skills and techniques in Karate. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. T. Thenmozhi, Physical Director, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM IST, Vadapalani, Chennai.
The campus was vibrant with energy as participants demonstrated their strength, agility, and precision through various competitive rounds. Faculty members, coaches, and judges ensured fair play and encouraged the young athletes throughout the day.
The event concluded successfully with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners and participants. The Department of Physical Education extended its gratitude to all collaborators, coaches, and participants for making the event a memorable and motivating experience.
