Annamalai’s Delhi visit fuels speculation over political future amid new party buzz

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has triggered fresh political speculation after travelling to New Delhi amid growing reports about his future within the party and the possibility of launching a new political outfit.

The development comes at a time when discussions surrounding Annamalai’s next move have intensified across Tamil Nadu political circles. Speaking briefly before leaving for Delhi, Annamalai did not directly deny reports about a potential new party. Instead, he said he would speak openly on the matter within two days, a remark that further fuelled curiosity about his plans.

According to reports, Annamalai’s visit to the national capital includes meetings with senior BJP leaders. His trip has attracted attention because it comes amid increasing speculation about differences between him and sections of the party leadership, although no official announcement regarding his status has been made.

Political discussions gained momentum after supporters reportedly put up posters in parts of Coimbatore, leading to widespread talk about the possibility of a new political movement. The posters and subsequent public debate have prompted questions about whether Annamalai could chart an independent political course in the state.

Despite the speculation, Annamalai has not confirmed any decision to leave the BJP or float a new organisation. His comments have largely been limited to indicating that he would provide clarity soon, leaving observers waiting for a formal statement.
