Chennai, July 9:

Colors Tamil, Viacom18’s Tamil entertainment channel, has lined up four specially curated crime dramas as a tribute to policemen that will keep you on the edge of your seats this week.

Announcing the plan, the channel said that the police lineup begins with ‘Dejavu’ on Monday, ‘Writer’ on Tuesday, ‘Chasing’ on Wednesday before ending with ‘Trigger’ on Thursday.

‘Dejavu’, starring Arulnithi and Smruthi Venkat, is directed by Arvindh Srinivasan. It also features Madhoo, Achyuth Kumar, Kaali Venkat and Mime Gopi in supporting roles.

The film revolves around a writer whose fictional content ends up becoming a reality. Backdropped in the world of crime, novelist Subramani (Achyuth Kumar) ends up at a police station in a drunken state as he witnesses all his fictional work coming to life. He claims that the characters from his work are now threatening to kill him.

The police dismiss his claims thinking he is a drunkard. Soon, a woman appears out of nowhere and alleges that Subramani had been involved in her kidnapping, forcing the police to arrest him. However, things take a turn when the police chief‘s (Madhoo) daughter (Smruthi Venkat) is also kidnapped. She appoints special officer Vikram Kumar (Arulnithi) to solve the case.

How are Subramani’s writings coming to life? What secrets does Vikram unravel in his investigations? Tune in to Colors Tamil on Monday, July 10, at 9:30 pm to find out.

‘Writer’, helmed by accomplished director PA Ranjith, stars Samuthirakani, Harikrishnan and Ineya in the lead roles while Govind Vasantha’s music powerfully elevates the script.

Thangaraj (Samuthirakani), a writer at a police station, is transferred to another police station as he fights for a police union. There, he meets a PhD student, Devakumar (Hari Krishnan), who is illegally held in a nearby marriage hall.

After several twists and turns, Thangaraj helps Devakumar, who belongs to a backward caste, escape but he himself lands up in jail.

The movie takes the audience way back in time, projecting the travails of the oppressed who eventually raise their voice against the injustices in the society and the deep-rooted hierarchical system.

Tune in to Colors Tamil, this Tuesday, July 11, at 9:30 pm, to witness how Thangaraj’s life unravels.

‘Chasing’ is an action crime film, written and directed by K Veerakumar and produced by Mathialagan Muniandy under the banner Asia Sin Media. A cop from Chennai sets out to nab a dreaded drug racketeer based out of Malaysia. Staying true to its title, Veerakumar’s Chasing has a lot of sequences in which its protagonist Athira (Varalaxmi) is seen chasing goons and drug peddlers. The police special concludes with ‘Trigger’ on, Thursday, July 13.
