Foundation Stone of IIT Jodhpur Phase 3B Development Project Laid Virtually by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi

Projects worth ₹672.89 Crore to transform IIT Jodhpur’s academic and residential infrastructure through HEFA Loan

 

Jodhpur, India | 27th September 2025 – The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur marked a historic milestone today with the virtual foundation stone laying ceremony of Phase 3B of its campus development projects, led by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

 

This project, with a total cost of ₹672.89 Crore under a HEFA loan, allocates ₹522.89 Crore for infrastructure development and ₹150 Crore for advanced research equipment. Through this investment, IIT Jodhpur’s academic, research, and residential ecosystem will be significantly strengthened.

 

Under this phase, the institute will see the construction of a Lecture Hall Building, a new Academic Block, an Admin Block, and a state-of-the-art Technology Park. On the residential side, three hostels with 640 student rooms, a 150-room visitor hostel, a dining hall, six Type-B housing blocks with 96 flats, and five Type-C housing blocks with 80 flats will be built. In addition, provisions have been made for common and utility services and advanced equipment, ensuring both academic excellence and community well-being.

 

On this occasion, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji said:

The foundation stone laying ceremony was witnessed in the Lecture Hall complex, IIT Jodhpur, where faculty, staff, and students gathered to celebrate this significant step in the institute’s journey of growth and transformation.

 

With Engineers India Limited engaged as the project management agency, the planning and execution of Phase 3B are already underway. This initiative reflects IIT Jodhpur’s commitment to building an inspiring and enabling environment for the next generation of scientists, technologists, and innovators.
