JSW MG Motor India, under its community initiative MG Sewa, has handed over a specially retrofitted MG Hector ambulance to Chinmaya Mission Delhi to strengthen medical preparedness during community programmes. The ambulance was formally handed over at the Chinmaya Centre of World Understanding on Lodhi Road.

The initiative reflects JSW MG Motor India’s approach of bringing manufacturing excellence to social responsibility through practical interventions that support safety, accessibility, and timely medical response.

The handover ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Guest, Padma Shri awardee Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani, with Dr. Manju Mani as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Ganesh Mani, eminent cardiologist and Chairman of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, addressed the gathering on healthy living in the age of vaping, digital excess, and lifestyle driven disease, emphasising the importance of prevention and readiness in community settings.

Padma Shri Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani said, “Heartdisease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. I often speak about the seven ‘S’ factors to avoid: smoking, stress, sugar, salt, spirits, saturated fats, and a sedentary lifestyle. The golden hour matters– preparedness and immediate medical response often determine outcomes.”

Senior executives from JSW MG Motor India participated in the ceremonial proceedings. The lighting of the lamp was led by Yeshwinder Patial, who also addressed the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion,Yeshwinder Patial, Chief Human Resource Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “Today’s handover of the MG Hector Ambulance to Chinmaya Mission underscores our commitment to community welfare. With its robust build, advanced technology, and spacious design, the Hector is well-suited for emergency medical support. As part of MG Sewa, this initiative reflects our dedication to strengthening healthcare access and contributing meaningfully to society.”

On behalf of Chinmaya Mission Delhi, Brahmachari Soham Chaitanya and Shri Jatinder Dhir received the keys of the ambulance. Trustees, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and members of the Chinmaya Mission community were present during the handover.

Built on the MG Hector platform, the ambulance has been retrofitted into an emergency medical response vehicle. It includes oxygen delivery systems, para monitoring equipment, an auto loader stretcher, and customised medical storage, enabling immediate medical care alongside safe and stable patient transport.

The ambulance will support on site medical readiness during residential camps, and educational programmes organised by Chinmaya Mission Delhi. The Mission’s programmes span all age groups, from Shishu Vihar initiatives for children to Vanaprastha programmes for senior citizens and regularly bring together large and diverse gatherings.

Chinmaya Mission has a long-standing engagement with healthcare as part of its service to society. Chinmaya Mission Hospital in Bengaluru, which began as a modest clinic, has grown into a major healthcare institution serving hundreds of thousands of patients while continuing to provide free and concessional care. The Chinmaya Institute of Nursing supports the training of healthcare professionals, extending the Mission’s contribution beyond treatment into capacity building.

Alongside this initiative, Chinmaya Mission Delhi has outlined healthcare programmes for the year, including an eye camp, a free health check-up for women, and dedicated health screening for children.

Through MG Sewa, JSW MG Motor India continues to align its mobility expertise with meaningful social initiatives. The donation of the retrofitted MG Hector ambulance to Chinmaya Mission Delhi demonstrates how corporate capability and trusted community institutions can work together to support preparedness, safety, and service in action.
