“SRMIST Shines Again! V. S. Rahul Crowned India’s 91st Chess Grandmaster”
It is with immense pride and honour that we announce that V. S. Rahul, II MBA from SRMIST, has achieved the extraordinary feat of becoming the 91st Grandmaster of India. He secured this prestigious title by triumphing in the ASEAN Open Chess Championship held in the Philippines from 02nd to 10th November 2025. Heartfelt congratulations to Rahul for bringing immense glory to SRMIST and to the nation. He also becomes the 15th Grandmaster from SRMIST, marking yet another proud moment in our institution’s sporting excellence.
