Super Chennai Organises Beach Cleanup Drive to Champion Civic Pride and Environmental Responsibility.
In a significant step toward promoting environmental responsibility and civic participation, Super Chennai, the citizen-driven city branding movement, has announced a large-scale Beach Cleanup Drive on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Urur Olcott Kuppam Beach, Besant Nagar. Organised in collaboration with Volunteer for India (VFI), the initiative seeks to bring together citizens, corporates, resident associations, and educational institutions to collectively work towards a cleaner and more sustainable coastline.
On the day of the event, volunteers will complete their registration and receive cleanup essentials, including gloves, masks, collection bags, and exclusive Super Chennai T-shirts. All materials required for the drive will be provided on-site to ensure a safe and seamless experience. The drive will focus on waste collection, segregation, and awareness on responsible waste management, encouraging participants to take an active role in maintaining public spaces. The collected waste will be systematically segregated and handed over to the Greater Chennai Corporation for responsible disposal. As a token of appreciation, every participant will receive a digital volunteer certificate acknowledging their contribution to the city’s sustainability efforts.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Ranjeeth Rathod, MD - Super Chennai, said, “Super Chennai has always stood for civic pride and collective responsibility. Through this beach cleanup drive, we aim to inspire citizens to take small but meaningful actions that create a lasting impact on our environment and our city’s image.”
Through this initiative, Super Chennai aims to strengthen civic pride and showcase how collective citizen action can drive a meaningful, lasting impact on Chennai’s environment and future.
