The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) All India Sports Meet 2026 for Directors of Sports to be Hosted at SRMIST
For the first time in the history of AIU Sports, Directors of Sports from all four zones of India—North, South, East, and West—will come together at a single venue for the AIU All India Sports Meet 2026.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) All India Sports Meet 2026 for Directors of Sports will feature expert technical sessions by Dr. Kalpna Sharma, Dr. Rajeev Choudhry, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Sudharshan Biswas, and Dr. Vikram Singh, covering university sports excellence, governance, legal and ethical issues, anti-doping, institutional leadership, sports science, research, and technology. The sessions will be followed by interactive discussions and an open-house forum to develop the Roadmap for AIU Sports 2030, focusing on the future growth of university sports in India.
The Directorate of Sports, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in association with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), will organize the meet on 07 July 2026 at the Padma Bhushan Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Stadium, SRMIST, Kattankulathur. The prestigious national event will bring together 200 Directors of Sports and sports administrators, with 50 delegates each from the North, South, East, and West Zones, providing a common platform to exchange ideas and strengthen the university sports ecosystem.
The programme will be inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar Pathak, President, AIU, and Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU, in the presence of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor, SRMIST, Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Pro Chancellor (Administration), SRMIST, and Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, Pro Chancellor (Academics), SRMIST. The event is being organized under the leadership of Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRMIST, with Dr. Sinku Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, AIU, as Organising Secretary and Prof. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director of Sports, SRMIST, as Convenor.
