Anish Shah to take over from Pawan Goenka as Mahindra's MD and CEO

Shah, who is currently the president for strategy at Mahindra Group, will transition into the role of the group’s chief financial officer (CFO) and deputy managing director from 1 April 2020.

The MD and chief executive of Tech Mahindra, one of the most valuable companies in the Mahindra Group, has also been appointed onto the board of Mahindra and Mahindra as an non-executive, non-independent director effective from 1 April 2020 to the company’s next AGM.

There will be a hand-holding period of one year for the 49-year-old IIM Ahmedabad graduate before he becomes the managing director and chief executive from 2 April 2021.

Pawan Goenka, 65, will retire after 1 April 2021 after completing four years and five months at the helm of Mahindra and MahindraNSE -0.67 %.

Meanwhile, 64-year-old Anand Mahindra, the executive chairman of the company will become a non-executive chairman from the 1st of April 2020
The incumbent group CFO, VS Parthasarathy will transition to an unspecified role within the group from 1 April next year.

Rajesh Jejurikar, president of farm equipment sector, has been appointed as an additional director of the company from 1 April 2020 to the company’s next annual general meeting. He has also been appointed as whole-time director of the company designated as 'Executive Director (Automotive and Farm Sectors)' for a period of five years from 1 April, 2020 to 31 March, 2025.
