Association of Indian Universities Women’s Volleyball Team Wins Historic Bronze at Federation Cup After 22 Years
The SRMIST Directorate of Sports, and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), played a vital role in facilitating the participation of the Indian University Team in the Federation Cup, providing valuable exposure and strengthening university-level volleyball. This initiative reflects SRMIST’s commitment to sports development and its vision of promoting sporting excellence in India. The Indian University Women’s Volleyball Team created history by winning the Bronze Medal in the Federation Cup Women’s Volleyball Tournament after a long wait of 22 years. The tournament was held from 3rd to 8th February 2026 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Organized by Volleyball Federation of India. This remarkable achievement was made possible with the strong support of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Directorate of Sports, which provided financial assistance for tournament expenses and helped fulfil the dreams of many talented players. This long-awaited success is a proud moment for Indian University sports, and the team extends heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and the Volleyball Federation of India for this opportunity.
