Vande Matri Shakti Pujan Mahotsav, dedicated to honouring mothers from across the country, was organised at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi
The first-ever Vande Matrushakti Pujan Mahotsav, dedicated to honouring mothers from across the country, was organised on December 30 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi. The national-level programme was jointly organised by Shri Ganesh Seva Mandal Delhi (Regd.), Laxmi Nagar, and Roopamata Foundation, Dharashiv.
The event marked the celebration of Vande Matrushakti Mata Pujan Diwas–2025 and aimed at promoting love for the motherland, strengthening maternal values, and reaffirming the significance of motherhood in Indian society. The objective of the Mahotsav was to bring exemplary mothers from different parts of the country onto a single platform and recognise their contribution through values, sacrifice, and moral strength.The programme was convened by Mahendra Ladda, Founder President of Shri Ganesh Seva Mandal Delhi; Advocate Venkat Vishwanath Gund Patil, Founder President of Roopamata Foundation; and noted scholar Dr. Kiran Zarkar, who also conducted the proceedings.
Several eminent dignitaries attended the event, including Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Vijaya Rahatkar, Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, former Supreme Court judge Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti founder Acharya Lokesh Muni, Kaliputra Kalicharan Maharaj, former BJP national vice president Shyam Jaju, Special Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, Ajay Chaudhary (IPS), along with social, spiritual, banking, and business leaders from across the country.
A special highlight of the programme was the performance of Shiv Tandav and the rendition of “Vande Mataram” by Kaliputra Kalicharan Maharaj, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience. During the event, several mothers were honoured as Ideal Mothers, including Maina Devi, Chandravati Rudh, Anita Hangargekar, Meera Kamalkishor Bang, Laxmibai Bhutekar, Prayagbai Sanap, and Babyai Khole. The honourees were felicitated with shawls, coconuts, mementoes, and citations.
Addressing the gathering, MP Bansuri Swaraj appreciated the organisers for holding a programme dedicated to mothers and said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, women empowerment and respect for mothers have been given top priority. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar noted that the day coincided with the death anniversary of Pujya Heeraben Modi and described her as a symbol of maternal strength and values.
Mahendra Ladda said that a mother is the foundation of values and the moral centre of society, and that reinforcing this message nationwide was the core objective of the Mahotsav. Advocate Venkat Gund Patil added that Vande Matrushakti Mata Pujan Diwas is a value-based national movement aimed at restoring the dignity and importance of motherhood in Indian society.
