AISA Backs CJP’s Delhi Protest Against Student Cases

The All India Students’ Association (AISA) has supported the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) planned protest march in Delhi on September 5. The march will demand the withdrawal of legal cases against students and an investigation into alleged pellet and bullet firing during earlier demonstrations

AISA president Neha Bora stated that unresolved issues have led to this mobilization. She emphasized that despite government promises, cases against protesting students remain pending. Bora called for accountability from the government regarding the use of force during protests.

The CJP, led by Abhijeet Dipke, announced it will resume peaceful activities after a month-long pause following talks with authorities. The September 5 march coincides with Teachers’ Day and will include families affected by the NEET exam controversy and those impacted by police actions during July’s agitation.

Bora highlighted that students and youth took to the streets because the government made dialogue difficult for ordinary people. She stressed AISA’s support for democratic protests demanding accountability from a government that refuses to listen.

The march aims to address concerns raised by students affected by the NEET exam cancellation and suicides linked to the incident. Bora criticized the government for failing to recognize these issues early on, accusing it of inhumanity toward those affected.

When asked about the government’s response, Bora said a democratic government should engage with people seeking dialogue. She also noted that AISA will wait for Delhi Police’s response regarding permits but believes protests don’t require permission under democratic principles.

AISA’s support extends beyond case withdrawals to issues affecting students nationwide, including centralized exams and state-level agitations. The group remains committed to standing with any protest demanding rights and accountability.
