As part of its Sunday Cine Combo, the channel has culled out a wide range of entertaining movies just for you. Kick-starting the festival with two enticing movies, Colors Tamil is all set to Premier Madura Veeran at 1pm, followed by Thaarai Thappatai at 4pm, this Sunday, 30th May.  

 

Madura Veeran is an engaging drama about the protagonist, Durai, who returns from Malaysia after 20 years to avenge his father’s death but encounters various challenges and conflicts between 2 communities in his village. The 2018 flick which glosses over the right to celebrate the traditional bullfight festival called Jallikattu, has Captain Vijaykanth’s son Shanmuga Pandian in the lead role as the fierce son of the soil. Directed by P G Muthaiya, this entertaining action drama boasts of some renowned artists from the film fraternity, including popular actor cum director Samuthrakani and Mime Gopi in the pivotal roles with actress Meenakshi playing the female lead.

 

Thaarai Thappatai is a gripping tale filled with fights and revenge on a dying folk form, directed by noted National Award-winning filmmaker Bala. This mythical drama becomes richer as legendary musician Ilaiyaraja lends his magical touch about the Karagattam troupe where the character Sannasi, a musician played by actor Sasikumar, helps Soorvalli, the dancer played by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, when she faces personal conflicts.
