Request to the CMO to Vaccinate Families of Frontline Workers on Priority
The second wave of the Coronavirus outbreak has shaken the country to its core. Just when life seemed to resume back to normal, India was hit by the pandemic once again.
Given the current scenario, people are finding it difficult to cope with the second strain of the virus. India has seen a severe shortage of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders all across the country.
Amid the huge spike in cases, the government has allowed vaccination of all persons above the age of 18 starting from May 1, 2021.
Keeping in mind the forthcoming vaccination drive, MLA Rais Shaikh has requested the Chief Medical Officer of Maharashtra to provide vaccination for the families of all frontline workers on priority.
“We request @CMOMaharashtra that the families of all the frontline workers (doctors, medical staff and others) should be vaccinated on priority basis as they are highly susceptible to the virus due to being in close contact with the workers who look after the Covid-19 patients,” Rais Shaikh had tweeted on Wednesday, April 29, 2021.
As the nation continues to fight the disease, it is necessary to provide relief to the healthcare workers who are at the highest risk of exposure and can potentially carry the virus to their family members.
MLA Rais Shaikh’s request for priority vaccination to the families of frontline workers is definitely the need of the hour.
