SRM Institute of Science and Technology Hosts International Conference on Sports Law and Sportsmanship
The School of Law and Directorate of sports, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, in association with the Brazilian institute of foreign and comparative law successfully organized the 1st International Conference on Sports Law and Sportsmanship on September 11th and 12th, which brought together distinguished dignitaries, academicians, policymakers, and sports law experts from India and abroad. The conference was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Julian Henrique Dias Rodrigues, Founder and President of the Brazilian Institute of Foreign and Comparative Law, who delivered an insightful address on the global scope of sports law. Mr. Pablo Mettroz Holley, Associate at Parmer’s Chambers, and Mr. Jeet Singh Mann, Director, Centre for Transparency & Accountability in Governance, NLU Delhi, further enriched the session with valuable perspectives. Eminent SRM dignitaries, including Prof. A Vinay Kumar (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Dr. S. Ponnusami (Registrar), and Prof. Dr.P. Sreesudha (Dean, School of Law), Prof. R. Mohanakrishnan (Sports director), also graced the occasion. Keynote speakers included Mr. Rohan Mathew Therattil, Sports Lawyer, Dr. Tarun, Member of GNLU Centre for Sports and Entertainment Law and Mr. Anshul Ramesh, Associate at CDAA, Rome, who addressed contemporary issues in sports law and governance. Over 60 research papers were presented across technical sessions chaired by eminent experts such as PSS Gowri Shankar, Mr. Dayan Sheriff, GS Suvethan, Mr. Mahadevan, Dr. G Nikhil and Dr. Thirumalai Kumar. The papers covered diverse themes including athlete rights, anti-doping laws, dispute resolution, intellectual property, eSports, performance analytics, sports nutrition, mental health, and inclusive practices. The valedictory session was graced by Hon’ble Justice V. Bhavani Subbaroyan, Former Judge of the Madras High Court, and Dr. T. Mythili, Additional Registrar (MSL), SRMIST. The two-day international conference concluded as a landmark academic milestone, highlighting the protection of athlete rights, the evolution of sports law in India, and fostering new avenues for collaborative research.

மாநாட்டின் துவக்க நிகழ்ச்சியில் மிஸ்டர் ஜூலியன் ஹென்ரிக் டயாஸ் ரொட்ரிக்ஸ், பிரேசிலிய வெளிநாட்டு மற்றும் ஒப்பீட்டுச் சட்ட நிறுவனத்தின் நிறுவனர் மற்றும் தலைவராக கலந்துகொண்டு, உலகளாவிய விளையாட்டு சட்டத்தின் பரப்பளவைப் பற்றிய ஆழமான உரையை வழங்கினார். மிஸ்டர் பாப்லோ மெட்ரோஸ் ஹாலி, பார்மர்ஸ் சேம்பர்ஸில் உதவியாளர் மற்றும் மிஸ்டர் ஜீத் சிங் மான், இயக்குநர், மாநில நிர்வாகத் துறையில் வெளிப்படைத்தன்மை மற்றும் பொறுப்புக்கூறல் மையம், தேசிய சட்டப் பல்கலைக்கழகம், டெல்லி ஆகியோரும் கருத்துரைகளை பகிர்ந்து நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்பித்தனர்.

முக்கிய விருந்தினர்களில், மிஸ்டர் ரோஹன் மேத்யூ தெரட்டில் (விளையாட்டு சட்ட வழக்கறிஞர்), டாக்டர் தருண் (குஜராத் தேசிய சட்டப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் விளையாட்டு மற்றும் பொழுதுபோக்கு சட்ட மையத்தின் உறுப்பினர்), மற்றும் மிஸ்டர் அஞ்சுல் ரமேஷ் (CDAA, ரோம் நிறுவனத்தில் உதவியாளர்) ஆகியோர், விளையாட்டு சட்டம் மற்றும் நிர்வாகத்தின் தற்போதைய சவால்கள் குறித்து உரையாற்றினர்.
60-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஆராய்ச்சி கட்டுரைகள் பல்வேறு தொழில்நுட்ப அமர்வுகளில் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டன. இவற்றை பி.எஸ்.எஸ். கவுரி சங்கர், மிஸ்டர் தயான் ஷெரிப், ஜி.எஸ். சுவேதன், மிஸ்டர் மகாதேவன், டாக்டர் ஜி. நிகில் மற்றும் டாக்டர் திருமலைகுமார் போன்ற முன்னணி நிபுணர்கள் தலைமையில் நடத்தினர். இந்தக் கட்டுரைகள், விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் உரிமைகள், தடைவிதி சட்டங்கள், தகராறு தீர்வு, அறிவுசார் சொத்துரிமை, இ-விளையாட்டுகள், செயல்திறன் பகுப்பாய்வு, விளையாட்டு ஊட்டச்சத்து, மன நலம் மற்றும் ஒருங்கிணைந்த நடைமுறைகள் போன்ற பரந்த தலைப்புகளை உள்ளடக்கியிருந்தன.
மாநாட்டின் நிறைவு விழாவில் மதிப்பிற்குரிய நீதிபதி வி. பவானி சுப்பாராயன் (முன்னாள் நீதிபதி, சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம்), மற்றும் டாக்டர் டி. மைதிலி, கூடுதல் பதிவாளர் (MSL), எஸ்ஆர்எம்ஐஎஸ்டி ஆகியோர் சிறப்புரையாற்றினர்.
ரண்டு நாட்கள் நடைபெற்ற இந்த சர்வதேச மாநாடு, விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் உரிமைகளை பாதுகாப்பது, இந்தியாவில் விளையாட்டு சட்டத்தின் வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் கூட்டுப் பணிகளுக்கான புதிய ஆராய்ச்சி வாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்குவது எனும் முக்கிய கல்வி சாதனையாக முடிவுற்றது.
