SRMIST Men’s Chess Team Creates History with 6th Consecutive Gold at All India Inter University Championship
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) Men’s Chess Team has once again etched its name in history by winning the Gold Medal at the All India Inter University Chess Men Championship held at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal on 11th to 13th March 2026. With this remarkable triumph, SRMIST has secured the championship for the sixth consecutive time, taking the university’s overall tally to 11 titles in this prestigious tournament. Notably, SRMIST has become the first university in the history of AIU Chess in India to win six consecutive gold medals, setting an extraordinary benchmark and reinforcing its dominance and legacy in university chess.
