TCS iON Collaborates with AICTE to Equip Students with Career Skills

DELHI | MUMBAI: TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has announced a collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a national-level apex advisory and regulatory body for technical education, to provide students with a custom curated digital learning course to equip them with career skills.

TCS is one of the largest recruiters of engineering graduates in the country. The company’s research through the years has indicated a definitive gap in students’ competencies, when it comes to career skills. Many students miss out on job opportunities despite their strong academic performance because of the lack of basic soft skills such as effective communication and interpersonal skills.

With an intent to bridge this gap, TCS iON has curated a free, 20 hour-long career skills course that will cover topics such as corporate etiquette, effective email writing, impactful presentations, IT awareness etc. The course will be available to students free of charge throughout the duration of their degree course. The course is available on the TCS iON Digital Learning Hub at https://learning.tcsionhub.in/courses/career-skills/, and can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and on any device.

Dr Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, said, “We have collaborated with TCS iON to empower the students with career skills to help them stand out in the competitive hiring scenario. The unique course provided by TCS iON will help improve placement opportunities for our institutions, thereby initiating a strong start to the professional careers of the students. The guidance provided by TCS iON will prepare students for their professional endeavors and help cultivate a highly qualified, competent, and proficient workforce.”

Commenting on the partnership with AICTE, Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON, said, “We run one of the largest recruitment platforms in the world. Candidate data from the past few years has given us deep insights into the gaps in students’ competencies. As a responsible recruiter in the country, we would like to participate along with the educational institutions in helping students develop better career skills. We are delighted to collaborate with AICTE in this national effort.”
