Brand India organized an exclusive workshop on " Social Entrepreneurship and Funding " on 28th April-2021, from 5 pm to 6.30 pm through a Live Webinar. India’s best experts on Start-ups, Incubation, Innovation, Health Care and Policy Strategists spoke at this workshop. The workshop was sponsored by Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences , a private residential institute, Deemed to be University in Coimbatore. It was founded by Dr DGS Dhinakaran and his son Dr Paul Dhinakaran. , and supported by Yali Foundation.

 

 

 

Brand India is a knowledge platform and wants to be the voice of India's business captains from diverse industries. It specializes in the CSR domain, Event Management, Publishing and Research. It encourages debates, seminars, one-to-one Interviews, Conferences, Ideations on diverse subjects, and through continuous engagement, it wants to influence the policymakers of our country. The Event Conceptualization was done by Mr Adil Firoze, an independent CSR and Sustainability Expert . The event was Ideated & Moderated by Sandeep Simon Behera, Director - Branding & Promotions of Karunya, Deemed to be University .

 

 

 

The speakers cutting across various domains of the Social Entrepreneurship included thought leaders , practitioners, researchers , fund managers and ground level Innovators were present.

 

 

 

Mr Ajay Muttreja, an expert and thought leader in the area stressed on identification of real emerging needs and addressing them through unique technical advantages .

 

 

 

Dr Roopinder Oberoi, stressed upon empathy and learning and focus on reinventing , reorienting and out of box thinking . The concept of heutagogy was explained by her, She further said academicians and practitioners are partners .

 

 

 

Dr Edmond Fernandes, a renowned medical practitioner shared about his experience in choosing public health as a much needed area for innovation and entrepreneurship.

 

 

 

Ms Taranjeet Kaur beautifully explained all the schemes offered by BIRAC to support and motivate entrepreneurship.

 

 

 

Dr Jawahar Surisetti shared his insights by giving very relevant examples and the various innovative ideas leading to creation of successful entrepreneurs even in the remotest areas of the country .

 

 

 

Mr Tamil Maran, a social strategist and architect is a great motivator and popular among students shared his insights and Govt. support at policy level.

 

 

 

Mr Adil Firoze while thanking all the panellists who highlighted different perspectives of the entrepreneurship ecosystem , stressed about adopting the principles of Risk Management and Project Management in the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem as well as to monitor time , scope , cost and quality . This will lead to more successful social enterprises.

 

 

 

The workshop encouraged participants to interact with speakers . There were more than 300 attendees from different sectors like NGOs, People from Development Sector, Officials of Deemed University, Placement officers of Colleges along with University students who have the burning desire to become entrepreneurs . There were also many international students who attended this exclusive workshop.
