Lawyers to boycott courts on 28 Sept
Salem: Protesting against the Bar Council of India's decision to suspend 15 lawyers, the Advocate Federation today announced that it will boycott the courts on 28 September.
Speaking to mediapersons after a meeting, Tamilnadu and Pondicherry advocates federation president P Paramasivan said, 'We strongly protest the decision taken by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to suspend 15 lawyers.
We believe that the 15 advocates from Madurai court weren't given an opportunity to explain their case. With the aim of protect the larger interest of the advocate community, we have decided to boycott all courts throughout Tamilnadu on 28 September. We hope BCI will reconsider its decision to suspend the 15 lawyers.'
