TN Assembly adjourned after paying obituary reference
The Opening day of the monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly was today adjourned after paying obituary references to the former President A P J Abdul Kalam, former Minister Chendur Pandian and former music maestro M.S. Viswanathan.
Soon after the House assembled for the day, Speaker P. Dhanapal read out the obituary references in respect of the three people and ten more members. After observing two minutes silence the Speaker adjourned the House for the day.
Earlier, AIADMK MLAs gave a rousing reception to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa who attended the House proceedings for the first time after winning the by-election to RK Nagar Assembly constituency.
The ruling party MLAs thumped the desks when she entered the House. The Speaker greeted the Chief Minister in his speech and at the end of his speech, all AIADMK MLAs gave a standing ovation to Jayalaltihaa. She also reciprocated it with folded hands.
