The Marina hosts the Dimsum Food Festival
Chennai, 17th June 2014: The Marina restaurant at Nungambakkam is now hosting the one of a kind DimSum food festival which will take place till the 26th of June. The two week long festival will be anchored by expat chefs from Malaysia, Chef Lee Chee Kee and Chef Hee Sai Kit. Dimsum refers to a style of Cantonese food prepared as small-bite sized served in a steamer baskets or on small plates.
The special menu includes a handpicked selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian delicacies. Exclusive vegetarian dimsums include Master Veg Curry Puff (cubes of curry flavored Potato and Chinese parsley leaf), Garden Vegetable (Babycorn, Mushroom, Chinese cabbage and spicy szechwan sauce).
Some of the non-vegetarian delicacies include Phoenix Prawn Dumplings (Prawn meat marinated with Bean sauce), Steamed Chicken Bun (Boneless Chicken cubes, oyster sweet soya sauce mix), Assorted Mushroom (Chicken and Prawn meat, Sesame oil and shiitake Mushroom).
These dimsums are steamed with a choice of seafood like Royal Thai Sauce (steamed with onion, tomato, green chili, lemon grass, curry powder with fish sauce), Spicy Chilli Bean Sauce (Red chilly, green chily, garlic and Tauchu- yellow bean).
The key highlight of the food festival is Mango pudding and Chocolate Lava with Ice Cream exclusively prepared to infuse sweetness into the traditionally prepared dim sums.
