“I’ve been DJ’ing since the late 90s and since that time, for better or worse, the ‘DJ’ has never been more popular than it is now. The DJ Dispensary Retreats aim at giving participants a sneak preview into the art of DJ’ing. Our retreats include a brief history lesson in the form of the independent documentary film ‘Maestro’ (which explores the history, roots and spirit of New York’s House Music scene from disco to the present day), equipment familiarisation and beat matching.
At the end of the course, each participant will be given the opportunity to play a set for a crowd of party-ready peers and music lovers, under our guidance. We will also be photographing, recording and streaming your set ‘live’ on our UStream channel. From a personal point of view, it’s always nice to give our participants a better understanding of what it takes to stand up there and present a personal musical account of yourself (rather than just belt out the latest popular music).
We will also strongly emphasize on the less tangible aspects of DJ’ing, like reading the crowd, which will come in handy at the end of the retreat for their ‘live’ DJ set’,” says Matty Wainwright. Over the years, Vivanta by Taj has built a reputation for innovative, high energy bars within their properties, like Wink, Tease, Distil, Shimmer, Ivory and Reef Bar.
The bars ooze innovation in every aspect, like their in-house music, Fuse 2.0 cocktails in association with Diageo, location specific signature cocktails and Martinis, the fine Single Malt Vivanta Aberlour and many more. Vivanta by Taj has also played presented a peer leading cast of celebrity bartenders and mixologists like Tim Judge and Atilla in the past.
With this new initiative, Vivanta by Taj aims to keep up with its ‘bon vivant' ideology, signifying sophistication and appreciation for the good things in life and also highlight its attributes of vividness and vivacity. Exercising its core values of creativity, radiance and vibrancy, Vivanta by T
