Three-day National Conference on The Mahabharata

C.P. Ramamswami Aiyar Institute of Indological Research, chennai, has organized a National conference on “The Mahabharata in Indian Art and Culture,’ to be held for three days, from March 14 to 16. Prof. Arvind P. Jamkhedkar, chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi, will inaugurate the conference on March 14, 10 a.m., at The C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, Alwarpet. The evening programme at Smt. Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, includes classical dance presentation ‘Sambhavami Yuge Yuge’, (6.30 p.m.) by the students of the Grove School, run by the Foundation.

Periyasamy from Tiruchi will present the puppet show, ‘Panchala Kuravanji’ on March 15, 6.30 p.m., at the C.P. Art Centre. The three-day event will conclude on March 16 and Prof. Koenraad Elst, Belgian Orientalist and Indologist, will present  the valedictory address. An exhibition of the Mahabharata illustrations by Raja Ravi Varma will be on display at the Shakuntala Art Gallery
