Chennai boy Vijay Kishore sets new national record in Rubik?s C
CHENNAI: Eighteen-year-old Vijay Kishore of SRM University has set a new national record for solving the Rubik's cube, cracking the code in 5.72 seconds, breaking the earlier record of 6.56 seconds.
In a competition held at Montfort School in Tiruchi on Saturday, Kishore indulged in five rounds of speed solving with 98 other participants and grabbed the national record. He is now in 3rd position in Asia and 13th in the world, according to the World Cube Association.
Kishore has the unique achievement of being the only Indian in the world top 50 with Kesava Kirupa coming in at the 84th position. In Asia, Kishore is again the only Indian in the top 15 with Kirupa at the 17th position.
